TEXAS MEDIA WATCH
keeps a close watch on how the news is presented to our citizens. The five
major newspapers, in the five major cities, often slant the news with a
negative liberal bias. Texas has been the focus of news stories, such as
redistricting and anything negative concerning the policies of President,
George W. Bush. Sherry Sylvester will cite questionable headlines, first
paragraphs and statistics and how readers can get the truth.

Let the People Vote is a non-partisan, political
action committee formed to improve city government and limit the fat in the
city budget. The charter amendment requires voter approval before the city
can increase total revenues, (including property taxes, water and sewer
charges) more than the combined rates of increase of inflation and
population.

County taxes are referred
to as payment of money for the use of the County government. Even though he
is a collector of our taxes, Paul Bettencourt is considered a friend of tax
payers.

particularly property taxes, in our area.
